Hirschmann™ launches HiMobile, one of the world’s first apps for industrial network devices
Higher network availability, with monitoring via smartphone or tablet.
HiMobile app makes it possible for immediate response to error messages by Network Administrators using smartphones. HiMobile allows access to status information about Hirschmann network devices from almost any location.
Tablets may also be used; however, its operation on smartphones is especially convenient. A specially formatted QR code can be scanned to refer to a device’s IP address –no need to worry about typing errors – and you can view the status information immediately on the display. Network devices can also be accessed very quickly via product lists. Versions of HiMobile are available for mobile devices running on Apple, Android or Windows Phone operating systems.HiMobile is one of the first apps in the world to enable monitoring of industrial network devices without a Personal Computer (PC). All that is required is a smartphone or tablet and network access, whether it is via Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Ethernet or a 3rd Generation (3G) mobile connection. Our Industrial HiVision network management software acts as the server and HiMobile as the client. You can protect access to the server by password.
In addition, you can only read, but not save the status information of the network devices, making HiMobile both a practical and a secure monitoring solution.
The app is suitable for practically all applications that depend on seamless processes and hence effective data communication. Examples include production equipment in the food and beverage industry, material handling systems, printing presses, and robotics applications. HiMobile can also be used to enhance network availability in the oil and gas or power generation markets. It is equally effective in road and rail transport applications, at airports and seaports.
